Rice Macrobiotics

Macrobiotics means “large life”. It is a healing diet comprised of grains, fresh local vegetables, beans, seaweed, small amounts of fish, and seasonal fruit. Macrobiotics is a way of preparing and eating foods designed to promote optimal healing and balance in the body. It can, and has been used to, prevent cancer and reverse cancer. Many traditional cultures thrive on the principals of this diet. You will learn how to prepare and create delicious Macrobiotics meals from breakfast to dessert.

Macrobiotics - Part 1
Course time: 2 hours
Difficulty: Easy

DESCRIPTION: Learn to prepare a classic miso soup, pressure cooked brown rice, sauteed kale with lentils, and pressed salad.

For this session, you will need:

  • 1 fine mesh strainer
  • 1 soup pot
  • 2-3 sauce pans

DESCRIPTION: Learn kinpira and nishime style vegetables with seaweed. We will make millet and aduki beans with butternut squash.
